How We Test
Last Updated: January 2026
The internet is broken. Search results are filled with AI-generated spam and "reviews" written by people who have never touched the product.
StealPicks is different. We are a small team of enthusiasts (racers, lifters, and tech nerds). If we recommend something, it's because we used it, dropped it, stressed it, and still liked it.
What We Will NEVER Do
To maintain our integrity, we adhere to a strict set of "Negative Rules":
Our Testing Methodology
Every product category is different, but our 3-step process remains the same:
The "Stress" Phase
We don't just unbox it. We try to break it. For gym gear, we overload the weight. For backpacks, we drag them on concrete. For tech, we run heat tests. We want to find the failure point.
The "Daily Driver" Phase
Specs don't tell the whole story. We integrate the product into our daily routine for at least 2 weeks. Does it get annoying? Is the battery life actually good? This is where we find the quirks.
The Value Comparison
A $500 product might be "good," but is it 5x better than the $100 version? We always compare products against their budget-friendly competitors to find the true "Steal."
Our Scoring System
We rate products on a simple 5-point scale. Here is what those numbers actually mean:
| 5.0 | The Steal. Flawless performance and incredible value. Buy it immediately. |
| 4.0 | Great. A solid product with minor flaws. Worth buying if you catch a sale. |
| 3.0 | Average. It works, but there are better options for the price. |
| 2.0 | Avoid. Major quality control issues or poor design. |
| 1.0 | Trash. Do not buy. Dangerous or a scam. |
Affiliate & Funding
StealPicks is reader-supported. When you click links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission (from Amazon, ShareASale, etc.).
Does this bias us? No. Here's why: If we recommend a bad product, you return it. If you return it, we make zero commission (and you stop trusting us). It is in our financial interest to only recommend products that you will genuinely love and keep.
Corrections & Updates
We are human. Sometimes we get a spec wrong, or a product gets updated after our review. We are committed to accuracy.
Please email us at [email protected] and we will verify and fix it within 48 hours.
