Digital FPV is flashy, but Analog is forever.
While everyone is hyping up DJI O3 and Walksnail, pro racers and Tiny Whoop pilots know the truth: Analog has lower latency and is much cheaper.
But flying analog doesn't mean you have to look at a fuzzy, washed-out screen. Skyzone is the brand keeping premium analog alive. With their flagship SKY04X Pro, they offer OLED screens, 100fps support, and a receiver that rivals RapidFire. Is it worth buying analog goggles in 2026? We think so.

Skyzone SKY04X Pro
This is the endgame for analog pilots. The 1080p OLED screens provide perfect blacks and vibrant colors. It supports 720p/100fps high-frame-rate inputs and includes the SteadyView receiver, which merges signals for a glitch-free picture. It's expensive, but it's flawless.

Skyzone has a confusing lineup. Here are the 3 models you should actually consider.
The Best. 52° FOV, OLED screens, focus adjustment dials, and HDMI input for digital VRX modules. If you have the budget, get this.

For Glasses Wearers. This is a "Box" style goggle with a high-res LCD screen. It fits over prescription glasses comfortably and uses the same SteadyView receiver.

Entry Level OLED. Smaller FOV (29°) and smaller screens, but you still get the vibrant OLED colors for a much lower price.
View Details →The "SteadyView" Advantage
Standard diversity receivers just switch between Antenna A and Antenna B, causing a "flicker" when the signal is weak.
Skyzone's SteadyView Receiver (included in the box) works like the expensive RapidFire module. It merges the two signals to reconstruct a stable image. This eliminates image tearing and rolling, especially in high-multipath environments like parking garages.
Unboxing: What's in the Box?
Specs That Matter (SKY04X Pro)
- Screens: OLED (1920x1080).
- Field of View (FOV): 52 Degrees. This is massive; it feels like sitting in the front row of a movie theater.
- Refresh Rate: 100fps support (great for Walksnail VRX).
- Focus: -6 to +6 diopter adjustment (no inserts needed).
Why OLED Matters
LCD screens have a backlight that makes blacks look grey. This washes out the image when flying at night or in shadows.
OLED pixels generate their own light. When a pixel is black, it is OFF. This gives you infinite contrast. When flying a Tiny Whoop through a dark house, you can actually see the obstacles in the shadows.
SteadyView vs. RapidFire
ImmersionRC's RapidFire module costs $150 alone.
Skyzone includes SteadyView for free. In our testing, SteadyView is about 90% as good as RapidFire. For most pilots, it is more than enough. If you are a hardcore racer, the SKY04X has a module bay, so you can upgrade to RapidFire later if you want.
Comfort & Faceplate
The goggles come with both a Wide and Narrow faceplate.
This is a huge deal. Most goggles only fit one face shape. Skyzone gives you options to prevent light leaks. The foam is soft PU leather, which is easy to wipe clean after a sweaty summer flight session.
DVR Recording
The onboard DVR records at 60fps using H.264 compression.
It’s not HD, but for analog DVR, it is very clean. It doesn't drop frames often, making it reliable for finding a lost drone (you can replay the footage in the goggles).
HDMI Input: The Secret Feature
The SKY04X Pro has a Mini-HDMI input.
Head Tracker
For fixed-wing pilots, the built-in head tracker is a nice bonus.
You can map the goggle movement to servos on your plane. Look left, and the camera on the plane looks left. It’s a niche feature, but it works surprisingly well once calibrated.
Skyzone vs. FatShark

|---|---|---|
| Screen | 1080p OLED | OLED (Lower Res) |
| Receiver | Included (SteadyView) | Sold Separately ($100+) |

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work with simulators?
Yes. You can use the HDMI input to connect to your PC and fly Liftoff or VelociDrone using the goggles for practice.
What battery do I need?
The goggles do not come with a battery. You need a 2S-6S LiPo battery with an XT60 connector, or a FatShark style 18650 case.
Can I upgrade the receiver?
Yes. The module bay is standard. You can remove the SteadyView module and plug in a TBS Fusion or ImmersionRC RapidFire if you prefer.
Is the Cobra X good?
If you wear glasses or have a budget under $250, the Cobra X is fantastic. It uses the same receiver as the 04X, just with an LCD screen instead of OLED.
Final Score: 9.8/10
The Skyzone SKY04X Pro is the king of analog FPV. It offers a "complete package" that FatShark simply cannot match in value. If you fly analog in 2026, this is the headset to own.
